International Transport Company van der Heijden was founded in 1932 by Mr. H.J. Van der Heijden. Van der Heijden has now grown into a modern transport company with various logistic facilities. With 80 years of experience and today more than 100 employees and a fleet of 75 towing units, International Transport Company Van der Heijden can count itself as one of the oldest transport companies in the Netherlands.
Our core activities include international transport, distribution, storage and forwarding. These core activities have recently been centralized at our new location in Hapert. Van der Heijden also has its own workshop and car wash.
Transport and distribution.
Through our fleet we take care of national and international transports on a daily basis. Our transport mainly takes place from and to the Netherlands, Belgium, France and Germany.
Storage and delivery.
In order to be able to handle the storage and transshipment for our customers, we have access to a warehouse with a storage capacity of 10,000 pallet places.
Van der Heijden has been Lean and Green certified since the beginning of 2013 and in May we received the Lean and Green award. In our action plan, we have agreed to save at least 20% on our CO2 emissions in the coming 5 years. The measures we have taken for this include the following:
- Use of LZV vehicle (not sure about this)
- Training and education of drivers
- Tracking of driving style drivers via the on-board computer
- Centralization of activities at 1 location
- Relocation to location closer to the highway
- Tire pressure measurement and axle alignment
- Speed limitation
